HPAG Newsletter March 2025

Hello, out there, my honourable subscribers.

I hope Spring treats you well and you are in a positive mood today. There are many things in the world that could upset us, but we should not allow that to happen. Our peace of mind is extremely valuable. I will not let that happen in my life, and I credit my faith and art for that.

Speaking of art, as promised, I've already completed a few new works in egg tempera. A great medium that is also slightly challenging. I adore bright colours, and working directly with raw pigments is thrilling.

As I get older, I find myself wanting to do more, so I added portraiture to my to-do list. It is, in my opinion, the most noble of all artistic disciplines. The map of the human face and posture is incredibly fascinating. Time waits for no one, so I've already started doing a few.

If anyone is interested, I am currently accepting commissions for small family portraits. Don't worry, I'll try to be economical.

Finally, on March 25th and 26th, 2025, the Gallery will host the Glastonbury School of Art Spring Student Exhibition. We will hold a private view on Tuesday, March 25th, from 18:00 to 22:00. If you're in the area, you're welcome to join us for a drink.

So, I hope to see you all in person sometime in the future. Take good care of yourselves.

** The above image is that of St. Dunstan and Glastonbury as it was 1000 years ago, before Tor, and when there was only the wooden church in the village. I hope you enjoy it.
